Specialist Gambling Counselling Services

gamblingpic1Many people find themselves unable to explain why they continue to gamble despite the problems it causes in their day-to-day lives.

In our experience, even though winning money may have attracted you at first, most people who have a gambling problem are using gambling as an opportunity to escape from other problems or pressures in their lives—problems at home or at work, boredom, loneliness or anxiety. Understanding what role gambling is playing in your life can be an important first step in beating the problem.

Most of us enjoy a flutter from time to time and have no problems at all. When gambling spirals out of control however, lives can be devastated.

The good news is that support and advice is now available in Dumfries and Galloway.

ADS, the largest local Alcohol and Drugs Charity, delivering specialised recovery services since 1993, is delighted to now offer specialist and expert support to problem gamblers, family members or friends.

This service is completely free and confidential.

Simply contact ADS on 01556 503550  or contact GamCare on 0845 6000 133 where one of their advisors will organise a Local Appointment.
